A new mule has come into my life finally. She is a wonderful 6 year old 16H molly mule out of a Tennessee Walker mare. I am hoping she will share my passion for distance riding.

Beaver Trail
Today Loretta and I decided to ride out of Double M Camp. We were going to ride the Beaver trail, south of Karber's Ridge Rd, and remark it any place it might need it. I got Lily ready and rode her down to Double M by way of Thacker Hollow Rd. We spooked the Alpaca when we got to where they were and they jumped up and ran off snorting. Thankfully, they did not spook Lily. She doesn't seem to be more than mildly curious about them. I rode into the first place I can at Double M and up to Loretta's camp. She was not there. I tied Lily to her trailer and knocked on her camp door, looked around by the pens and no Loretta. Then, a few minutes later I see her and Terry coming up the camp road in their side by side. They had gone looking for me and by pure chance timing, we'd missed each other by going in and out different driveways in camp. Loretta got Pepper ready and we headed out.
The wildflowers in the hollows along the creeks are just so beautiful right now. My camera just can't capture how they really look. There are areas that are just carpeted in Bluebells right now and it is stunning to ride through. Along with Spring Beauties, Trillium, Phlox, purple and yellow Violets just to name a few. Add to that the Redbud and Dogwood trees blooming. It's the most beautiful time of year to ride in the Shawnee. We passed a few trails we didn't have time to explore. It gives us a good reason to come back. Someone has been working on the Beaver trail so it was fairly easy to follow. We rode 22.35 miles today.
