Maine Morgan Horse Club Ride in Whitefield

Today Bonnie, Kathie and I went to the Maine Morgan Horse club trail ride held at Acorn Hill Farm in Whitefield. It was a lovely day for a ride. Bonnie picked me and Marie up in the morning and we met Kathie at her house and followed her to the ride. We were there early enough to relax and take our time getting ready and to enjoy the donuts and coffee provided by the ride.

The ride started at 11:30 and all riders went out at the same time. A few groups went out ahead of us and we quickly caught up to them. Kathie's horse Baxter really wanted to be up with the front horses so we ended up stopping and letting the rides in front of us get far enough ahead to be out of sight. Baxter settled right down after that. Susie and Diana caught up with us and we let them go ahead of us also. We managed to miss a turn in the trail and did a few extra miles. It was all good though as it was nice riding that went out to what I think was Weary Pond. We backtracked and found the trail and finished the ride. Marie won a bridle bag for being the oldest horse on the ride. There were sandwiches and chips provided for after the ride. We hung out and chatted with everyone for a while. It was a really nice time.
